Ephesus
Ephesus, the ancient city of its day, and dating far backs as we can remember has always amazed me as a tourist, educator, and religious enthusiast of what the Apostle Paul when having spoke to the people at Ephesus about a Savoir who had come to bring the good news, leaves me spellbound even today when visit. This ancient city is still in the process of being restored, is a must see for all regardless, of religious or non-religious beliefs. Dating from the seventh century BC (and possibly earlier) Ephesus provides an interesting view of ancient life and how the people of that day must have lived. With its ruins illustrating how ancient cities worked and how the people entertained themselves reminded me of what many Westerners do today. Ephesus is a site that holds interest for whatever reason(s) as with an upbringing of Christian faith it holds a special reverence for Christians who believe that the Virgin Mary lived in the area at the end of her life. Another major event is when the Apostle Paul of Torus visited Ephesus and converted the people at Ephesus to Christanity.
Upon your arrival you must see the Temple of Artemis (better known as) the Temple of Diana, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Like all the wonders, only the Pyramids at Giza, there still remains no trace of the temple dedicated to Artemis, the Greek Goddess. Scholars belief is that it was destroyed by fire or later by earthquake. Louis L. Lyans.
